Tuesday Talks: TRANSFORM!

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." ~Romans 12:2

When we read Romans 12:1-2, we are admonished to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by renewing our minds. The word "transform" is defined this way: to make a thorough or dramatic change in form, appearance, or character.

One Bible commentary states that God teaches us how to behave from Romans 12 through Romans 16:27. Remember, we each have a personal responsibility. First Samuel 15:2 reminds us that obeying God is better than sacrifice. In other words, if we follow God's direction, we won't have to suffer the consequences that can come with doing life our way. Romans 12:1-2 and the verses that follow remind us that we have the power through the Holy Spirit to live holy, righteous lives that represent God well. 

We must shift our mindset by studying the mind of God, which is studying His word. We must transfer from our old mindsets, such as selfishness, fear, and doubt, to God’s mindset, which is filled with love, courage, power, and faith. This transformation will guide our thoughts and actions in a more godly and righteous direction. 

Do you find yourself in the same mental place year after year, month after month, day after day, and wonder why you're stuck? Stagnant, not flowing or moving? Remember, this is not a dead end. It's a sign that there’s room for growth. Obedience to God is the key that will unlock the plans and purposes He has for you. 

Family, the time for transformation is now. Don’t delay; don't wait another moment. Starting today, right now, let's commit to being transformed by the renewing of our minds. Let's step into the fullness of God's plans and purposes for us.
