Tuesday Talks: Do You Have Skin in the Game?

When I was growing up, the phrase “Skin in the Game” was often used in my 'hood.

If you had “skin in the game,” that meant you were connected to the right people, the right gang, the right game, or the right _________ (you fill in your blank). But God gave me another revelation of what that phrase means.

Check out the following definitions:

If you have SKIN IN THE GAME, you are directly invested or involved in something.

BOOM🔥🔥🔥

“Invested or involved in” for me means going about my Father’s business. It is being led directly by His Holy Spirit to root out the lies of the devil, that dEVIL . . .EVIL one. That, family, is having “SKIN IN THE GAME.”

Do you have the Holy Spirit? Have you invested in yourself by directly asking our King of Kings to fill you with the Holy Spirit? Remember, our Lord Jesus gives generously and “upbraideth” not (James 1:5). In other words, God doesn’t hold back when we seek Him for guidance and wisdom, and He does so gladly and without pointing out our shortcomings.

He said we can come boldly—directly—to His throne and ask for what we need.

What are you involved in?

The word “Involved” is defined in part as “to experience or participate in.” Are you involved in the SKIN (your fleshly skin desires) that steers you off the path the Holy Spirit paves for your life? Or have you given your flesh, your SKIN, over to our Lord Jesus and received and experienced the Holy Spirit that will dwell within your SKIN?

Are you invested or infested?

Only you know the answer to that question. Let me define in part the terms “Invested” and “Infested:”

Invested: To devote one’s time, effort, or energy to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result. i.e., LIFE

Infested: To cause damage or disease. i.e., DEATH

So, I ask you, family: what do you desire? Yes, we have skin in the game. Yes, we can choose right or wrong. Yes, we can be in a position of life and death. Are you DEVOTING or DAMAGING your precious life? Only you know🔥🔥🔥🎤

I now close as I began: What’s your SKIN IN THE GAME? Who are you connected with, and how is that working out for you?
