He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. ~Romans 4:20
F – Fixed
A – Attitude
I – In
T – The
H – Holy Ghost
Do you have F.A.I.T.H.? Do you believe in God, no matter what the enemy says? Faith is believing God’s Word—not some of it but all of it.
Abraham “staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform”(Romans 4:20–21). This Christian journey is a walk of faith, not a walk of sight. It is not seeing then believing God—that’s not faith. Faith is being set like a flint on the Word of God, not looking to the left or right, just settled on God’s Word no matter how your situation looks. “For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed” (Isaiah 50:7). Consider the definitions of the words the Lord gave me for F.A.I.T.H.:
Fixed – firmly in place, clearly established, to fasten or place securely, attach, to put into a stable or unalterable form.
Attitude – a manner showing one’s feeling or thoughts, a position of the body or manner of carrying oneself; a state of mind, disposition.
In – within the bonds or area of.
The – refers as a particular person or thing; used before a title, rank or office designating its holder.
Holy Ghost – the Spirit of God.
Now that you have read the above definitions on faith, do you have a Fixed Attitude in the Holy Ghost?
When we are waiting for something that God has promised, it is during that period of delay that God increases our levels of faith: building our integrity, forming our character, getting us ready for the promise. Remember, spiritual level changes in faith; it increases as we wait on God. The prophet Isaiah said, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
The LORD promised me something, and the enemy came in sowing seeds of doubt, attempting to shake my faith. But it was in that time of waiting that God promised no weapon formed against me would prosper, and the fact His promises do not return to Him void became life to me, more than just words on paper or verses of Scripture to memorize. Yes, brothers and sisters! Through growing pains, I came to realize beyond the shadow of a doubt that God will accomplish “that which He pleases and it shall prosper; it shall come to pass” (Isaiah 55:11).
During that time, God also reminded me of the following Scriptures: Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38, and Romans 1:17, which states, “The just shall live by faith.” Over and over, Romans 1:17 in particular rang in my spirit. I then asked God, “Who is the just?” He led me to Strong’s Complete Dictionary of Bible Words, where the word “just” is defined as holy, deserved, equitable. Then it clicked: we are the just! We are the holy ones, the blameless ones that God chose, and because we are who we are, we must live, breathe, and walk by faith. In Colossians 1:22–23, the apostle Paul writes of Jesus’ death allowing us to be presented “holy and unblamable and unreproveable in his sight: If we continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel.”
Now, I ask you to fix your attitude and your disposition on the promises of God’s Word. Be steadfast and unmovable. Whatever the LORD has promised you, though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come (Habakkuk 2:3). Continue to delight yourself in the Lord. Bury His Word in your heart. Set your mind and heart on things above—heaven, your eternal destination. Be persuaded that God is going to bring to pass what He has promised. “God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man that he should repent; hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 2:56)
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, I implore you to keep a Fixed Attitude In The Holy Ghost, because what our Father has promised you is surely (not maybe) coming to pass. Stay in the Word of God, meditate on it day and night, building up yourself on your most holy faith, always praying in the Holy Ghost (Psalm 1:2; Jude 1:20).
In the Word: Hebrews 11
